Doggie Sympathy

Hi Everyone,

Hope you had a quiet weekend. Ours was quiet, the usual cleaning, shopping and watching the NFL Draft.

I found out that someone who is close to me, their dog passed way.  I wanted to send them a little sympathy card to let them know I am thinking about them and that Molly is now with mom, they can hang out together. Molly was such a sweet golden retriever and oh so protective over Lucky when we would visit. R.I.P sweet Molly. There is s touch of shine on the sunbeams but it did not photograph to well.

Now off to another online class with Jennifer McGuire and crowd, this time it is how to handle making different cards for "His and Hers". Making female cards is alright for me, but those "his" not so much, so let's see what I learn.

I wasn't sure you would be interested but I have included a few of the necklaces I have made. Also, included the one I made for my mom and then when she passed away, I decided to keep it with my collection.

Hi Everyone,

Ok, so while I lived in New England we would always say "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute" and we thought we were so clever. Now that I have been living in Texas I have decided that it is really true here. Where else can I have summer, spring and winter in a 24 hour period. Monday afternoon it was 80, Tuesday morning 66 and by Tuesday afternoon windchills in the 30's, I mean really!!!!!!

On with the show, the card I made for today is another bookmark card for my MIL, who loves to read and has been asking for about a year if I would make her another one. Here is link to the first one I made with the direcitons.  I haven't added the sentiment yet, since I haven't figured out if I will do the flag type thing, oval scallop or just something on the back, such decisions to have to make. I did emboss the red cs with flowers to stay in the theme with the poppy and added some liquid pearls to the center of the flower.

Lucky's One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

Today is Friday and it has been a slow week, did some studying and making of some jewelry, trying to build some stock and decide if I should sell or not....hmmm....just not sure yet.

Now that it is Friday, it is also Lucky's One Layer Friday and I really went with a simple clean card. I really wanted to color the door red, which is what I had in CT. Figure I can hold this for some new occasion for someone, someday. Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

Just Because

Hi Everyone,

Well right now it is a nice summer day, now last week, we had a few spring and winter days, let us just see what the end of the week brings, I think a storm most likely. It is getting into tornado season, so must get my safe spot prepared.

I made a card for my dad, a "just because" card to let him know I think of him every day as well as my mom. Wanted to let him know how special he is to me, so a big ole Howdy from Texas was in order.

There is a fence with some vines along the bottom to give it a bit more definition and contrast. Hope you enjoy!

Hi All,

Wow it sure has been a while, but I have been actually working on some jewelry pieces and trying to get back to my studies. Ok, cards and jewelry design have won over the studies, which I extended to November. Just needed a bit of a break.

A friend of mine from CT is under the weather so I thought I would make a card for her. Her son is my son's best friend and I consider him my second son. They are a wonderful and warm family and I do miss seeing them. Of course, after I got the card together, I forgot to emboss the blue base, but I was dealing with a dog, that is afraid of thunder and clawing at my leg. Hmm....maybe I should stop next time and pick it up after storms.

Well, back to my necklaces and/or studying. Hope you enjoy!

Lucky's One Layer Friday!!!!

 

 

I know it has been forever since I have done "Lucky's One Layer Friday", but I have had this idea in my head and just wanted it out on to card stock. My brother's birthday is in a month and since he loves the ocean, sailing, fishing and all that water stuff and it had to be a "guy" card, well the rest is on the card.

It seems sort of Monet like I guess, not sure that is what I was going for, but when putting marker on a block and then giving it spritz of water, well, it is really out of your hands.

Thought I would add a sail boat for the inside and continue the ocean theme. Hope you enjoy! Have an awesome weekend.

Hi Everyone,

Yes, can you believe it two cards in one week, now don't get use to this, it may be a bit sporadic, one card a week, maybe two, or maybe none, as I try to get back to my studies. I really am enjoying stamping again and creating one layer cards, now to color images again. Also, it is so nice to visit everyone and comment on your wonderful creations.

Thank you all for your kind comments, it truly warms my heart and makes it a bit easier knowing I have such wonderful friends out there in blog land.

This is the second card, which is similar to one I did about a year ago, with red instead of a more Easter type color. I added a sequin in the center of each flower, gives it some sparkle but still easy to mail. Hope you enjoy!
