Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Lucky's One Layer Friday! Yes there is one more Valentine's Card, guess since my Mojo is on vacation with Olga's and not sure when it is coming home, why not go with the next holiday for cards. Now I am assuming Mojo has headed for warmer climates so Kelly it could be in Miami, if you see it send it on home please.

I used the stamp set from GKD Sent with Love, released last year, then used SU's Heart to Heart punch in the corner, there is a touch of Glimmer paper there, so is this still counted as one layer? Not much else for this one, hope you enjoy and have something wonderful for the weekend!

Hi Everyone,

Time is just flying by and I see from everyone else, you are feeling it as well, but on the positive side, spring will be here with it's flowers and leaves on the trees.

I made the card today for Valentine's Day, now this one is really not for anyone in particular, since I will most likely purchase cards for my family.....I know, but they see everything and it is the only way to surprise them. Let's say this is for everyone out there is Blog Land.

It was easy, used one of the Hero Arts Folded Note cards and embossed the frame. Then just added some Glimmer Hearts and you may have remembered from some Christmas Ornaments, the silver bows holding the hearts, are a die from Memory Box. Hope you enjoy!

Bluebonnet Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Giants win!!!! Yippee Blue!!!!!I knew Eli Manning would pull it of in the final seconds of the 4th Quarter, he is so cool, wish I could be like that.

Are you all done with football and snacking?? We did our usual snacking, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Wings, Mozzarella Sticks and for me, so that I can keep losing weight, shrimp, veggies and low fat cheese with whole wheat crackers. Now I will go into football withdrawal, since I really do enjoy watching the game.

I decided to keep making some birthday cards to get my stash full; I am always out of birthday cards and then running to get something made, well I am not going to do that anymore. OK yes I am sure I will always be running behind with birthday cards, but I am going to try.

Today's card uses the Bluebonnet flower from GKD Stately Flowers 1 by Melanie Muenchinger which I then colored up with my Bic Markers. Not much to say for the card fairly easy, may need something more, but I am not sure. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Are you all enjoying all this wonderful weather??? How great is this, warm temps and very little snow, well I guess if you like to ski, it is not so great. Is everyone all set for this weekend, yes it is the Super Bowl and yes the Giants are in it, go Blue!!!! Know where I will be this weekend???

Well, enough about football and on to Lucky's One Layer Friday, where I used a versatile stamp and a fun idea to add color and no bulk. So the stamp I used is one that was used several times during the CAS Online Class, Hero Arts, Open and Solid Flower. I decided to use my Prisma Pencils and shade the Open Flower a bit then added a Liquid Pearl. The fun little tip I also learned during class is the use of the Hero Arts Hue Note Cards, you can use them right side out or inside out, like I did. After turning it inside out, I used a border punch so that color can show through, but I didn't have to add a layer and bulk, fun idea right? Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.

Hi Everyone,

Now today's heading was the hardest to write because I did not want you to think that something happened to Lucky, can't tell how many different headings I had.

Anyway, today's card is for friend who has lost one of her beloved dogs after it had an illness and could not recover from it. I used one of GKD's set, Basket Buddies by Melanie Muenchinger. This card has a bit of symbolism in it, that the paw prints become butterflies, which I stamped off so they are very faint in the clouds. So that explains why there are butterflies for this card. Kept it very clean and white to focus on the thought. Hope you enjoy!

Hi All,

Hope you had a great weekend, ours was quiet, my DD took her SAT's and was a bit tired afterward, working that brain, but she finished.

Can you believe it is Monday again and almost February, OK just slow down a bit, I am still recovering from Christmas. Anyway, it is Monday and another 2 week challenge from Stamps R Us and the challenge is Valentine or Love Theme. We have such a fun sponsor as well, Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps, where there are so many adorable images to choose from. I chose I Heart U to use for my card today.

I decided to do some paper piecing for my card today and pop the image up on foam dots and highlight the outside with some Dazzling Diamonds. Hope you enjoy and join us because there is always a wonderful prize for the winner.

Hi All,

So my Ark is built and waiting, my stars did we get some rain, 5" in about 24 hours, can I tell how much I watching our pool, hoping it was draining at the same rate it was raining or faster. Today the sun is out and the ground is soggy, best ever our lakes are starting to look like lakes again and not a desert.

Have anything planned for the weekend? We will be dropping off our DD to take her SAT's tomorrow. She is super nervous because she is only in 7th grade, but she was asked by the school and Duke who sponsors the TIP program looking for talented students. I know she will do just fine and now has the experience for the future.

One thing you can always be sure of, that Friday's will always be one layer cards, not just a CAS card. Today's card was inspired by the class I took and using that highlight, lightly on the image. I stamped the flowers and leaves with colors I liked (used the color wheel) and the just shaded using a similar marker. The inspiration was a set of cards as a gift, but I just made a simple birthday card to get my stock ready for the birthday's coming up, like my mom and a friend. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend! Have to say our Friday and Sunday were great 78 and 75 degrees, so cannot complain. The best part of my weekend, the Giants will be going to the Super Bowl, can't wait just two weeks until the re-match, Giants vs. Patriots.

Today's card is one I made for a friend's birthday, using GKD Dogwood and Butterfly by Theresa Momber, just love this set. I decided to cut out the center with one of my Scallop Oval Nesties and stamp on the inside of the card and cut out the butterfly for the outside for some dimension. Hope you enjoy.

Lucky's One Layer Friday Happy Birthday

Hi All,

This is a card that Julie from Paper Trufflez made for the CAS Online Class and I just fell in love with her card. I did switch mine up a bit, in that I did not draw a line on the outside or mount it on a white card base, I just sponged the outside. So the picture may not really show, but this is a one layer Kraft card, yes Kraft, eeeeekkkkk!!! If you follow Lucky Stamper, my biggest fear in crafting is Kraft paper. Then I always color with with Prisma Pencils or Copics and I did not on this card. So, I was shaking and trembling, but the CAS Online Class, inspired me so, I went out of my comfy zone.

The flowers were colored with my Memento Markers, after embossing the image, which is what Julie tried and it worked. Just need to be careful that you don't over work it or the paper will pill. I really liked the bright colors though and will give this a try again.

Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend planned, I am going to try and just remember what is I do this weekend, so it doesn't go by and I miss it again. Well, I know I will be watching the football games, especially the Giants vs 49er's, let's Go Giants!!! Sorry, being from New England, they have always been my favorite.

CAS Class Color Blocking

Hi Everyone,

Today's card is from Day 5 of the CAS Online Class, have to say, I have loved all the different classes I have taken, but really, really loving this one. The inspiration from the instructors and the guest designers as well as those taking the class is just amazing. You can still get the class even when it is over, you just will not be able to enter cards for prizes.

Anyway, the class was all about color blocking, now one of the examples was using the square and using different colors over the card or circles, but I decided on the three squares. After embossing the image and sentiment, I used the Tim Holtz blending tool and some distressed inks, sprayed some water with Perfect Pearls for the sponge to soak up and you have color block. I added a couple of pearls for the eyes of the hummingbirds. Hope you enjoy! Don't forget tomorrow for my CAS Class push me out of my comfort zone type of card.

I couldn't resist giving the "get comfortable with white space" class a try, probably could have given this even more white space, but today's video was fun to watch since leaving a lot of white space, does push people out of their comfort zone.

Just wanted to pop in real quick since I made a card based off the CAS Online Class I am taking, it was about using simple embellishments and this is one card that caught my eye. My flower parted ways a bit on one side, guess I need a bit of a stronger glue, but you get the general idea.

Yes I used craft paper, that's why I like the classes it does push me out of the comfort zone. Just wait until Friday's card, way outside the comfort zone, but still a Lucky's One Layer Friday so stay tuned. Hope you enjoy!

What a strange weekend, it went by and I have no idea what I did....?????? Ok, I hear you all snickering thinking it is just old age.....well maybe.....oh well, it is Monday now and another two week challenge with Stamps R Us with our wonderful sponsor Bugaboo Digi Stamps, so it is a wonderful day!!! Lucky's One Layer

Hi Everyone,

My goodness was it cold yesterday, wind chills in the teens, I am thinking the East Coast was warmer than TX....hmmm...well at least it will warm back up this weekend, so if it is only one day once and a while I am OK with that. Not sure Lucky enjoyed wearing his coat, but at least it has that rugged TX cattleman look.

Today's card is one from the CAS class, Day 1 and it is a layout that can be used for so many different events. I went with the Valentines Day theme, I also think I will make one for a birthday and add silver glimmer crowns in place of the hearts. This is really easy just mask off the center and stamp around it or use a background stamp. Then I just embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and used my EK heart punch. Well, as you know I am taking the Clean & Simple Online Class and who knew it could even be easier to make one layer or as they call it flat cards.

Today's card is one made on day two by one of the guest designers, she had bigger flower stamps from Hero Arts, ok on my list, so it filled more room on the card, but I really like the line stamp and then then solid stamp in the red, so I did my best to CASE it. Hope you enjoy!

Well, I have to admit, this one weekend I am really glad is behind me, it was one of those pull up the covers and wait for Monday. Wow Monday is here, new week and it is the first day of the Clean and Simple Online class. Hope you had a great weekend.

So here is another one layer thank you card, that I sent out, trying to keep in the winter theme, but not the total Christmas thank you card. Now you may see more and more CAS and one layer cards, I decided for 2012, that since my comfy zone seems to be more one layer type of card, I may just stay there instead of fitting a square into a round hole. You will still see some layers, especially since I found this great paper pack at Michaels with some great colors and designs.

On with today, fairly easy, I stamped this cute little snowman from GKD Snow Much Fun and add some sparkle and the sentiment in the sign. Sorry the pictures lately have not been that great, not sure if the camera is having issues or what, I haven't changed a thing, yet the lighting is funny and I have tried taking them at all times of the day. Hope you enjoy!

Pine One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I went missing and have not been around to comment, I had such a sinus headache and just didn't want to turn on the laptop. They say wait a minute for the weather in New England, but here in Texas, the warm fronts and cool fronts are battling each other and my head was suffering for it. Now I am not complaining about the 70 degree temps though.

I also want to thank you for all your sweet comments on our blankets, hmm....will have to see if my head fits through the door....just kidding, I really do appreciate your comments and so glad you enjoyed seeing the blankets.

I have finally started on my Thank You cards, so that will be the next round of one layer cards, which are so easy to mail. This card, I just used some of the pine boughs from GKD Winter Wonderland in the corner, hit them with some Dazzling Diamonds for some shine and added a thank you. Easy Peasy, hope you enjoy!

Have an awesome weekend, I think cleaning is on my agenda, yippee!!!!

Don't forget Jennifer McGuire's and Kristina Werner's Clean and Simple Class starts on Monday, so next week should be a fun one for making cards.

Snow Fence

I had time to play with different ideas and things before the holidays and while putting some Clementines into our fruit bowl I thought how can I use the netting. While looking at it, it reminded me of a snow fence at the ski slopes, so I started playing. I made some snow banks behind the fence for the snowball and snowman.

Snuggle Up with a warm Fleece Tie Blanket

Hi Everyone,

Well, today is the day, that I share the blanket I made as well as one my DD made, plus links to instructions and the card I made that matches the blanket. This if for my brothers girlfriend, for her birthday, hope she likes, it sure is nice to snuggle in.

I have seen these around and then my DD got one as a gift from her girlfriend and I thought, easy peasy and what a great unique gift. Now to bring it up a notch, why not use the left over fleece for a card.

I actually used 2 yards of the print fleece and solid fleece and cut out a 4" square from each corner with 4" fringe to tie around the outside. What is great you can use as much or little as you want depending who will be getting the blanket.

Have you all recovered from the weekend? It was nice to see that some were going to visit friends and then there were some just like me, in bed early....I feel better now.

Hi Everyone,

Well Happy New Year to you, a bit early. This card has pulled out the gold embossing and fireworks from SU July Fourth, since we have fireworks at midnight to ring in the new year.

Do you have great plans or parties planned for the weekend? We are staying in and it will be just the three of us, since my hubby and I usually can't stay up until midnight. Usually the fireworks will wake us up and that is when we say Happy New Year. Sad I know (shaking head).

Hi Everyone,

While I was off, I played around a bit with some ideas, today I used my new stamp set from GKD, Label Borders by Tami Mayberry. I used an EF leaving just enough room for the stamp set. Great set that allows the look of a ribbon and you can put it anywhere.

Well, off to make a blanket with a matching card, which will be posted next week, not sure the blanket will make to my brother's girlfriend, it really is soft and so easy to make.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a great holiday! We had a nice relaxing one, since it was just the three of us, so no visitors and no real work; missed our son, but I know he had a wonderful time and that makes me happy knowing he was happy.

My family surprised me with an IPad, now to figure out to post with it, if anyone does this, let me know.

Today's card is the card I sent to my parents, it was their 61st Anniversary, can you remember it was just a year ago, that I made the wedding cakes out of paper for the party favors, here is link to them if you are new to Lucky Stamper. Well today is Friday and what a day it is, just before Christmas and Lucky's One Layer Friday! I want to take this time to thank you all for supporting me all year long. I also want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday.

Hi Everyone,

I received my box from Laura over at Creative Clear Stamps for the Grinch being arrested at the Lucky Stamper. I opened the box and there was so much fun in that box, but she also included so many stamps from Creative Clear Stamps and they are so cute and fun. The one that caught my eye was Jingle Jangle and the sentiment, one I feel like when decorating. I used all my Stardust Pens on the lights, unfortunately they did not really show up in the pictures. For the background I stamped Hero Arts Starry Sky using Colorbox Frost White. Hope you enjoy!

Sparkling Holiday

Hi Everyone,

Well the countdown clocks are counting down, as well as my DD, who has a nasty cold, but getting better. Amazing that 2011 is now coming to quick close.

Today's card is for a friend who likes pink so I colored this sweet little girl in pink, then added some Dazzling Diamonds on the fur areas, as well as the the larger stars (which doesn't show up). There is a bit of Stardust pen in Pink Star on the scarf, need some bling you know. I stamped Hero Arts Starry Sky for the background after masking out a circle, then just stamped the image in the middle. Hope you enjoy!

Were you thinking I was talking about my kitty, Noel??? Today is about the card, not sure it qualifies as one layer with the fence, but I played around a bit with a scene, using PTI Masculine Motifs and Through The Trees, what fun sets to use.

I used the punch from SU Boho Blossoms to make the wreath and then added a bit of red Stickles for some shine. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I had a quiet one, hubby went to the high school football championship and DD went shopping with a friend. Do you hear that.......(cricket).....yes that is the sound of quiet, or Christmas music in my case with an empty house.

So on with the creation of the day, I saw over on StampTV how GinaK used wrapping paper on her card to match the present. Well off I went to dig out a present for my hairstylist, which was buried, thus the crushed bow. I just loved the idea of matching the card and present, so I used my punches to make a couple of presents to stay with the theme and added the sentiment. Hope you enjoy!

Lucky's One Layer Friday and Poinsettias

Hi Everyone,

My goodness, we now have rain and it doesn't seem to want to stop. Now I am not complaining, but have to say I am not use to it, but one thing I like is being able to stay inside and craft,knit,crochet,read, oh and study.

We have a quiet weekend planned and it is the start of my DD's Christmas vacation, although she will be getting ready to take her SAT's in January, yes I know 7th grade and taking her SAT's. We got a letter from her school counselor and based on her grades and state test grades they feel she can take them. Hope y'all have something fun and holiday like planned for the weekend.

Today is Lucky's One Layer Friday and I am still using my embossing folders and SU Bells and Boughs, really like this stamp set and not sure why I haven't colored it up until now. This one is colored up with Prisma Pencils and some Liquid Pearls. Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

One Layer Early, Merry Christmas

Let me stop for a minute and say that I have the best blogging friends/followers, you lift me up everyday, reading your comments and I truly feel blessed that I have found this craft that lead me to so many fun people.

OK, on with the card, remember that I have several cards made up, well that is due to my love of one layer cards so you will be seeing several over the next couple of weeks, not just on Friday, hope you don't mind. Today is a card I made using the EF from Cuttlebug, called Grace's Frame to surround one of the images from SU's Bells & Bough, which I colored with Prisma Pencils. Deepest Sympathy

Hi All,

I have quite a few cards made so I may be posting more than just Monday, Wednesday, Friday so stay tuned. The card today is for a couple, our best friends, who lived across the street from us back in Connecticut, they have moved away as well.

Yesterday I found out that their mom's passed away, (different times) what a tough year they had, so I wanted to send them a card letting them, know we are thinking of them and wish we could be with them. I have the two flowers sort of symbolic of the two wonderful women and then looped the ribbon again symbolic for their moms.

Fairly simple and CAS, hope you enjoy!

Now on to a lighter note, not sure if you noticed the Grinch on my sidebar, it was for the Grinch Game at Creative Clear Stamps, well knock me over with a feather, I won $125 worth of prizes because the Grinch was arrested on my blog. Thank you so much Laura.

Small Angel

Hi Everyone,

Did you have a great weekend? Have to say, this is the most relaxed I have every been during the holiday. I am so ahead on everything, even have enough cards made through to January 2nd. Well, with all that, we had time to make cookies and truly enjoy it, not just feel like it is something to be done during the holiday's. This is only one batch, we spent Sunday making cookies as well.

Today is Monday and how much fun is it, well it is another two week challenge with Stamps R Us and the challenge is is an Angel Challenge. Our wonderful sponsor is A Day for Daisies and I colored up Small Angel, but decided to color her up 5 times, but using mirror image and Paint to cut out the tree on the other angels. I just loved the image and had so much coloring it up. There is a touch of Dazzling Diamonds on the wings and Liquid Pearls on the flower. I sure hope you will join us, as always there is a wonderful prize for the winner.

Christmas Wish and a fun Game

Hi Everyone,

I am finally feeling better and able to get some work done, thank you all for your well wishes, that I think is the biggest help.

So it finally decided to turn a bit chilly here in TX, 35 degrees with winds at 30 mph, means....brrrr...windchill.

I made today's card with one of my new Hero Arts stamps, Merriest Christmas Wishes and really was all over the place on how to use it and may someday give all those ideas a try, but today I went with Not Quite Nave, then coloring the bird, adding a bit of Stardust pen, which didn't show in the picture. Hope you enjoy!

Tic Tacs anyone!

Hi All,

Hope you had a great weekend, mine was spent nursing a nasty cold, well still have it, but loving those new tissues by Puffs with Vicks in them, yippee!!!! My hubby also made me a big pot of chicken soup, which I shared a pic of. My DD made me cookies and also got her gingerbread house done, it looks so sweet with the yellow windows. Also, got all my Xmas cards addressed and they will be mailed out today and I had already shipped presents and everyone got them so now I sit back and sip some soup.

Wasn't really sure what I wanted to make for my post today, maybe it was the head cold or not wanting to get up off the couch, but after I got going I thought about the fun Tic Tac holders I had seen over at Chic N Scratch. What fun these are to make and you can sure mass produce them. The red one was made using the sweet paper from Kelly at Sandcastle Stamper, I punched out one of the Santa's from the paper and then used some of the plaid paper for the background. The second one I used the freebie image from Whimsie Doodles and more of that wonderful DP . If you have dogs, or you like doing craft fairs, check out the freebies at Whimsie Doodles with the cute little Dog treat images, just punch them out and attach to the little gift. ( I was thinking of you Maria and the shelter) Hope you enjoy!

Hi All,

Well, I spent yesterday at the doc's since my knee has been bothering for about 2 months now, but actually has been getting better. I went because when I sleep if I move wrong, it wakes me up so I have not had much sleep for the last month, yes I am one of those who does not like going to the doctors. So it was not too bad, just some ligament and cartilage damage, but at least no surgery yet. If I behave and take the anti-inflammatory I can avoid that. Hmm....guess I will have to rest it and craft, oh yeah and study.

I also thought you might want to see a picture of the Snow Village, my DS always sets up for me.

Today's card is not what I was thinking of and took on it's own life, it's ok, but I like what my brain had in mind better. I used the top of the pine tree in SU's Lovely as a Tree for branches, then used Memory Box CRISP BOWS Craft Die and Tim Holtz foil sheet to create the bow. Punched out the ornament and snowflake to make just a simple clean card, add a sweet little rhinestone that came in my gifty package, that I won over at Kelly's blog, Sandcastle Stamper, can't wait to use the other fun stuff, like the DP, thanks Kelly!!!! Hope you enjoy!

Hi All,

My goodness, I feel like I have been gone forever!!!!! I so missed my little room, but at least my son had his bedroom, but it only took me one hour to turn back into the Lucky Stamper Headquarters. For those celebrating Thanksgiving, hope you had a great holiday.

Oh, we also decorated for Christmas so that my son, could set up my village and my in-laws could help with the tree and see what the house looks like all decked out for the holidays, since my son and in-laws will not be here for Christmas. I included a pic of our tree, which is 12' .

Lucky's One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

It's here, it's here!!!! As you read this we will be on our way to the airport, this early AM to pick up my in-laws and then this evening back to get our son (I so can't wait). The house is as ready as I can have it, there are Whoppers and Chocolate Covered Cherries in the guest room to make our guests feel welcome, there a couple of gifts in my son's room for him as well. The cheesecake and lasagna are in the fridge and all ready for dinner tonight. Tomorrow we all head to Cowboy Stadium to cheer our local high school team on to victory.

Today's card is, yes for Lucky's One Layer Friday and he is waiting for Santa. I made the Christmas trees after watching Jennifer make them over at Holiday Card Boot Camp, don't worry, today is the last day and I may go into withdrawal, I learn so much fun stuff.

Well, I will most likely be taking a break next week with family here, unless my MIL wants to make a card, so I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving for those celebrating and I will see on Monday, November 28th and I am sure that week I will be able to share a few more cards from my online class, even if it is over. I will be stopping in to see everyone's great creations though.

Snow Much Fun Bookmark

Hi Everyone,

Thanksgiving is coming, are you getting ready? I know I am feeling a little bit crazed with my company coming, yes you guessed it, I am OCD and want everything perfect.

The card for today, is inspiration from Holiday Card Boot Camp and it has a bookmark attached. Now over at my online class, by Jennifer McGuire and she had a collage of her children on her bookmark which would be fun for family members, I chose to just stamp Mr. Snowman on mine. You can really get creative with this one.

You can see on the inside how, after folding the bookmark in half, you can slip through the slits cut out. The Holly leaves are made from two different punches, thanks to Jennifer for showing how to make these. Fun and easy, hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Wow, Wednesday and today is the day, I will get my cheesecake started for dessert on Friday when everyone arrives. Thursday is lasagna preparation as well as one last cleaning, but figure there is always time to slip in some cards with inspiration from Holiday Card Boot Camp.

Today's card is actually from last weeks lesson and you emboss watercolor paper, never thought of that, use Tim Holtz Distressed inks and spray with Perfect Pearls, except the shine doesn't show on my card :(. It really does shine in person, it also doesn't help that I had to take down my little spot where I take pictures, since it is in the guest room.

Well off to bake, clean and make another fun card from yesterday's class, so come back tomorrow to see that one, it has to do with a bookmark, but not like one I have ever seen before, but super easy and can easily be mass produced for the holiday's. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Everyone!

Did you have an awesome weekend? We had a busy one, but I think the house is ready for company, we even did the bulk of our Thanksgiving shopping. My DD spent time wrapping my son's Christmas presents so he doesn't see them while he is here.

Can you believe that today starts another two week challenge with Stamps R Us, time sure does fly by and this week the challenge is to "Bling it On" and our sponsor this week is Crafty Sentiments Designs and what cute things they have. I decided to use the Snowman Couple and give a twist by making it an anniversary card. I figure there are those who get married in the winter so why not and they were so cute!!! Of course there is always such a nice prize package if you win, so I hope you enter, we can always use bling.

Lucky's One Layer Friday - Welcome Christmas

Hi Everyone,

I made it to Friday and this weekend will be a busy one, since we need to get ready for my in-laws and my son coming for Thanksgiving. That means I have to take my craft room and drop the bed down and make it into a bedroom again. At least I have minimal things to move into my bedroom, just the Cricut and my extra supplies which are in a rolling cart. Now let's hope everything fits in his room... Hope you have something fun to do this weekend.

Today's card is keeping with the winter/Christmas theme, since that is the next holiday coming up fast after Thanksgiving. I decided to use one of my Winter embossing folders, called Flurries and then from there figure out what would fit, backwards way of doing this but, guess that is how I craft, since I color then pick paper. Since it is flurries, I figured kids sledding fit the weather. I gave the snow a little shine with Dazzling Diamonds, but that really did not show in the picture. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

So I have been able to get some cards done, not sure if I have myself back on track or what it may be, but can you believe two cards today, on a Thursday!!!! It helped Lucky was at daycare yesterday and I didn't have to play so much with him, OK well maybe I didn't want to run into the Bobcat again.

The first card is using one of the ideas from Holiday Card Boot Camp, but instead of making it a Christmas card with a removable picture, I used a picture of our friends new puppy and making it a welcome card. The idea is to punch out 4 circles and slip the corner of the picture into the holes, then decorate or add embellishments so they are glued to the edges. Of course you can make this anything, baby card, wedding card, anniversary card, you get the idea.

The second card is one from the third day of Holiday Card Boot Camp, (sorry if you guys are bored with all this, but there are so many ideas and techniques) anyway, the snowflake is floating in the middle of the circle no strings attached. Hope you enjoy!

Lucky and I ran into a Bobcat on our walk yesterday, right on the street we live on, I decided to cross the street, but he really was a pretty animal.

Hi Everyone,

Well, I had a lot of fun doing this card! It is inspired from Holiday Card Boot Camp and the template was included in the "how to" packet, so all I had to do is print it out on my cardstock, cut and score. I have large foam dots under the star to hold it up, so if you mail it, it will come back to life. I did have to get a bit creative with the limb since I don't have the fun things that Jennifer and Kristina have, but have my list growing each day.

Hmm...noticed the gold line slipped, oops will have to fix that. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend! We had a shopping kind of weekend, went and finally purchased a 12' Christmas tree for this Christmas, since our windows are 12' and the ceilings are 17', the 7' tree we had just was not cutting it.

Today is a fun day, it is the first day of the Holiday Card Boot Camp, haven't had a chance yet to see the video or print off the PDF of the how to, but will after I study, or I may never get to my books.

I made today's card for a friend of mine, who just found out her daughter had her 4th boy, the oldest 7 years old. I am sending this out to her daughter with a little gift and of course a little something for the other boys, so they feel special as well. My DD is knitting the baby a hat. The bib is made from one of the Nestie Scallop Circles and I just cut out the opening with the oval punch. Hope you enjoy!

Lucky's One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have had a great week! I sure did, very productive and I am loving it, of course now the count down to Thanksgiving and I am cleaning all the nooks around here since my in-laws will be coming.

Today's card is pure inspiration from Susan over at Simplicity, she is the Queen of one layer cards. When I saw her card I just had to get the stamps from Papertrey Ink!!! Now, I changed things up a bit, by placing the image in the center and using green, but same clean look. I am also thinking it will be used a few times in different ways for upcoming posts, so I apologize in advance if you feel you are seeing it too much.

I am thinking this would be an easy card to make for some of my Christmas cards, I usually take pics of the kids and have those made into cards.

Wow did I get quite a bit done yesterday, especially after having 275 kids at our door for Halloween, my stars!!! I even sent Lucky to day care yesterday since he is so bored he gets a stuffy and follows me around with it and bumps into my ankles.

I even did some paper piecing on this one, something I haven't done in some time. I did forget to add some paper piercing, oh well. Hi Everyone,

Wow what a gorgeous weekend, sorry New England, I know you had a snow storm and that is so not nice in October with the leaves on the trees. We had such great temps in the 60's and sunshine and I was truly enjoying those cooler temps after roasting all summer.

Today is Monday, usually an icky day since it is the start of the week, but it is also another two week challenge from Stamps R Us and this week the challenge is to make something for "guys" or masculine cards, you know that type of thing. We have a great sponsor this week Doodle Pantry, which I love there stuff, since you can images pre-colored or not.

I decided to use the Vintage Auto already colored, since it was there and colored better than I could ever do. There is some liberty here since I decided to merge the image with the digi paper you can also get and then drew the oval around and filled it in, so all done with the computer.

Hope you decided to join in on the challenge since there is always a wonderful prize.

Now on another note, after much thought and stressing over my decision, I have decided to start posting only 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday ( of course, love to do one layer cards). Since the start of Lucky Stamper, I have tried to always post 5 days a week and try and find new ideas that are fun, but with my studies getting more difficult and time consuming (getting into actually transcribing clinical reports), I am finding it hard to get my cards done. I will always, visit everyone's blogs everyday and of course say hey, since you are all my inspiration and my friends. I truly hope that you understand and I may slip more posts in, but this will reduce some of the stress I was feeling since I never want to disappoint anyone.

Well, it is Friday before Halloween and it is also Lucky's One layer Friday!! Hope everyone is ready for trick or treat and those who needed costumes are all set. My DD is going as Santa's Helper, she wants to confuse everyone with the season.

Today's card is to celebrate Halloween, which personally is not my favorite, but my DD loves all holidays so I thought I would have a card ready.

I used Kitchen Sink Stamps, but did not do all the layers, Lynn over at Confessions of a Left-Brained Stamper, is a true master with these stamps. I did use the set, Owl and Autumn Moon to do the moon, tree and leaves, then Friends of the Moon for the flying Witch. Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.

Well, on Friday it is our 22nd Wedding Anniversary, amazing how fast the time goes, guess that is a good thing.

It took me quite some time to figure out what kind of card to make for my hubby, since he is just as happy with a store bought card, but I wanted some heart to go into something that says I would marry you all over again, especially if I could be that skinny again.

I chose this stamp from GKD Eclectic Summer since our honeymoon was at the coast of Maine. Fairly simple so not much to say, the sentiments were from GKD Farm Life by Theresa Momber and I felt says it all. Fire and Warmth

Hi Everyone,

Normally I make just a few Christmas cards to send out with checks or gift cards, maybe attached to presents, that type of thing and then do the photo cards for everyone else, since they like to see the kids and how much they have grown up.

This year, OK I am really reaching, maybe I will make cards, I know crazy huh???!!!! Now that I am comfy with one layer, why not. Today's card is one that will go out to my dad with his present, he loves my cards and keeps them safe in his nightstand, my biggest fan.

The card today started with the inspiration from all the other cards I have seen, but I used the wing of SU Two Step Bird instead of the tail and instead of stockings hanging from the mantle, I decided to use the Felt Wreath from SU and added some Stickles and then hung a bell from the middle. I used the TH Brick Wall EF and hit it with TH Distressed Ink in Fired Brick to distress it a bit, cut out the fireplace and added my burned logs, using SU Word Window Punch. The mantle is from the Window Ledge, but I just used the ledge to give a 3D affect. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Well, I am trying to recover as you can see from Lucky's picture, that is me being tackled by Lucky, he hates to be left alone. OK yes I was giving my poor feet a rest after walking all over the fair. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Today's card is one for Breast Awareness Month. I got the idea from so many over at Splitcoast, so thank you all for your inspiration. Instead of putting a bow in the middle I wanted the pink ribbon with a touch of glam.

It is really easy to make and one that can really fit for any type of card, just use a scallop circle punch, the SU Large Oval and then the SU Word Window punch for the straps. Here is the link to show exactly how it was punched out. Hope you enjoy!

State Fair, a Dog and his Harley

Hi All,

Well, we had a great time at the state fair and I was uber careful about what fried items I ate, since I really don't eat anything fried anymore.

I did try the fried bubblegum, which was a marshmallow injected with bubblegum flavor and then fried, different. The buffalo chicken in a flapjack and rolled in jalapeno breadcrumbs was my favorite. Then I had my other favorite, fried green tomatoes, yum!

Here are few shots, the last shot is while we were heading home, a couple on a Harley was driving by with a trailer and in it was a black lab with a leather jacket, see Maria I even got a shot for you. Have a great Sunday!

Hi Everyone,

Wow, Friday and do I have a big weekend ahead! We are headed to the State Fair and this year they have Fried Bubblegum, Buffalo Chicken in a Flapjack, of course there is Fried Butter, Fried Lemonade, Fried Cookie Dough, Fried Latte and the list goes on. I am also going shopping with my DD's best friend to pick out Xmas presents for my DD. Her friend is a Fashionista and has been out shopping with my daughter and knows what she likes. Then there is always football. Hope y'all have something fun lined for the weekend.

So were you looking for a Snowman card? Well, I made my card based on something I saw at Papertrey Ink, but I really changed the how to do it. I stamped the image, then used a sponge dauber and added some White Pigment ink, taking some off the dauber first, and smudged over the image to give a frosty or foggy look to the image. I then added just a bit of the ink with the white because I wanted more color to it, but you don't have to do that. (at PTI, they stamped over the image again with white and then smudge, but that just was not working for me). Hope you enjoy!

Frost warnings!!! Really, we had frost warnings last night I could not believe it, but keeping with crazy weather, it will be 88 by next week. I love it though, I am back to wearing a boot on one foot and flip flop on the other.

I made a simple card for today, giving that fall time feel. I used my SU Ink Pads and watercolored the image. Not much going on with this one, back to cleaning out closets. Hope you enjoy!

Wet Paper Stamping

Hi Everyone,

My goodness, was it chilly yesterday and I enjoyed every minute with my doors and windows open, of course I needed a sweatshirt.

Today's card is a technique that I did just about one year ago, called Wet Paper Stamping, here is the link to last year's card, just click here. All you need to do is spritz your paper (watercolor) with water, I used water with Perfect Pearls in it, then stamp the image with a lighter color and let it dry. After the image is dry stamp again with a darker ink and you get a blurred look. I colored the trunk in so it was brown. Hope you enjoy!

Welcome - Gatefold Door

Hi Everyone,

Now many of you know that I have taken over a corner of my son's bedroom, since he is in college, hoping that I won't have to move my crafting stuff. Well, for the most part that is true, but as I look at the area, it seems really cluttered, yes I know that is what makes us creative, but since my son will be home in about a month for Thanksgiving and my in-laws will be joining us, I think I need to do some cleaning.

Of course, if a card comes out of it that's OK right, no rules broken? That is how today's card evolved, I have seen many cards that look like doors, so I started thinking about how I like Gatefold cards and love the doors in the area I live in Texas and that is today's card.

I made the door panels, then used an Oval Nestie to cut out the center, embossed some Vellum and made a frame to add as the window on my door. The inside has SU So Saffron for the yellow glow and of course there has to be a wreath, made from SU Boho Blossoms and the center punched out. It probably took away from cleaning, but I have a month until anyone shows up. Hope you enjoy!

Natures Gift and Holiday Card Boot Camp

Hi All,

Did you all survive the weekend? We did, by going to the movies and saw Footloose, we enjoyed it, but wish there was a bit more dancing. Now I get to look forward to temps in the upper 60's, yippee may have to put on a sweatshirt when I walk Lucky.

Today is Monday, alright I just heard you all groan out there, it is not that bad, it is a great day because it is another two week challenge with Stamps R Us and this challenge is Nature's Gifts. Our wonderful sponsor is Heart Song and what beautiful images there are to choose from, I chose Autumn Wreath for my round easel card and to celebrate Nature's Gifts. As always there is a wonderful prize from our sponsor, so I hope you will enter.

I made mine into a round easel card using the largest scalloped circle Nestie, fold the paper in half and place part of the die off the fold so it would not cut it. This card also had the honor of Mr. Cricut to cut out the acorn for the middle. I used the Double Banner from PTI for the sentiment and raised it up to hold the card open.

Now I wanted to make sure to let you know that Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner are having another online card class and it is Holiday Card Boot Camp. What a great way to get some cards done and learn more tips and techniques. Today's card is one that was inspired from a tree I see everyday on my walk with Lucky it is a huge old oak (at least I think it is) and the leaves are starting to turn colors. So I finally decided to make a card and use my Distressed Inks to color it up with a touch of Flower Soft on the ground. Just a simple card for today. Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

I had a different card ready for today's post but then I saw that Maria over at Crafty Cre8tions did some Black Magic cards for a challenge, everything switched so there was a card for the challenge at Just Us Girls #105, to use the technique Black Magic.

Autumn Gifts

Hi Everyone,

I am really getting into making little gifts for people, from candles to making and designing jewelry (a bead store just opened in our town ).

Today is one little gift that I will be giving at Thanksgiving and I got the idea and tutorial from Pink Buckaroo Designs, where she made a little gift box that fits the candles from Bath and Bodyworks. My DD and I went shopping this weekend, of course I hit Bath and Bodyworks to get some candles for our house and check out what new fragrances they have, with that I picked up some of the 1.6 oz candles in different scents.

I chose the Caramel Apple candle for this set and then used the image from PTI Friendship Jar Fall Fillers for the top of the box and card. Then I used the sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps, which is from a set that Deedee drew. (Deedee, once had her own line of images and I was on her team) I punched out the apples and leaves to add a little something to card and then added Glossy Accents to the punched out apples. I added a brad to the front to hold the lid shut. Hope you enjoy!

Happy Tuesday to you! I am in love with our weather right now, this is what we wait for, blue skies, cool temps, but I can still wear my shorts, t-shirts and flip flops.

I think the weather is why I made the sunshine yellow card. The SU stamp set, Simply Soft is so much fun to color and it can be so many colors. This time it is sunny yellow. Not much to say on this card. Hope you enjoy!

Toilet Paper Please!!!

Hi Everyone,

So did you have an awesome weekend? My DD and I had a girls weekend, since my hubby headed back to CT for a reunion. We went shopping of course, then we went to IPIC Theaters where you have these big comfy seats that recline, a waiter that brings your food to you and to top it off a blanket and pillow. Now that is my kind of movie theater, oh and we did enjoy watching Dolphin Tale.

Are you wondering about the toilet paper, well it is the paper behind my image. I used some, um well TP, used my brayer with Kalidescope ink and covered it, then gave the TP a spritz with some Perfect Pearls mixed with water, for a touch of shine. The image is done on watercolor paper and SU Markers. Hope you enjoy and you will probably never look at TP the same again.

Snow Much Fun, Lucky's One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being a bit late on my one layer card, but Mr. Laptop is feeling better and running faster and I can now blog away.

When making my card for today, I am thinking cooler temps, since it is still a bit warm here in TX, but just wait when it turns cooler I will be looking for warmer temps. I thought the snowman was having fun and wanted to dazzle him up.

On each corner I punched snowflakes and attached some of the glitter paper from SU.

Knitted Friendship with House Mouse

Today I wanted to share a card that uses one of the little House Mouse images sent to me by the sweet Miami Kelly, as my DD and I fondly call her. Everyone else knows Kelly as the Sandcastle Stamper.

I decided to play around with the image and use some of my TH Distressed inks to give it a distressed look, one of those things that I want to accomplish by the end of 2012, yes already making those resolutions. Need to work on it some more, but figure that one year plus will give me time to practice. Hope you enjoy!

Spooky Treats Slider Card

I saw this card over at Stamping School and just had to give it a try since it can be adapted to any occasion or season, like Santa and a chimney. I made a slider card so that candy corn is coming out of the black Calderon when you open the card. What a really fun card to make and I will most definitely be making this one in the future. I already have so many ideas for it .

Thought this might be a fun card to send to my DS with some candy or maybe a gift card to a grocery store.

Hi Everyone,

Well, I am back home and trying to get all settled into my routine again, but somehow laundry seems to be calling me. I had a great time and my dad was so happy to see me as his birthday gift not to mention looking through the scrapbook and reliving the memories.

Today is Monday which is not always bad, since it means Stamps R Us has a new two week challenge, which is a Fall Theme and of course an awesome prize for the winner. Nature's Beauty and Lucky's One Layer Friday

I still have Lucky's One Layer Friday's for you, couldn't leave that out. Thought maybe a fall theme would be right now that it is fall time and we are moving into October.

This is a fun stamp set to use by Theresa Momber, called the Giving Tree and there are so many fun things that can be added to the tree. I used my markers to color the oak leaves with different colors, then added in the rack, since it is hard work raking up the leaves. Hope you enjoy!

Coloring with Distressed Inks

Hi Everyone,

Here it is finally, another card from my Inspiration Showcase Class, I can't submit it for the challenge, since the class was over last week, but that's OK.

Jennifer showed us how you can use your Distressed Ink Pads, water and Liquid Pearls to color your images. She also used Stickles who knew.....???? Well, I didn't and was very excited to find a new medium to use for coloring.

I stamped my flower image on watercolor paper and then heat embossed it. Then took my ink pad and pressed it on my craft sheet or acrylic block, gave a dab of Liquid Pearls and spray of water and color away ( I did add a touch of Stickles as well, couldn't resist). The water I use is not just plain water, but I have some Perfect Pearls mixed in with it to give some shine.

For the bottom, I stamped some Distressed Ink in two different colors, gave it spritz with my Perfect Pearls water and stamped onto watercolor paper.

Hi Everyone,

Well this will be the last piece to the scrapbook, unless my family gives me the go ahead to post some people pictures.

This page has some of the dogs my parents owned, the top one is Rex and he was a tough one, he would barricade the babysitters in the bathroom and anyone who visited had to have dog treats. The one in the bath is Topper, I never met her and OK one people picture, the handsome man giving Topper a bath is my sweet hero, my dad. The bottom picture is Freckles and snugged up with him my Siamese Hershey. Freckles was not the brightest bulb, he would lift the wrong leg when going potty, but he was a mellow pup, who finally passed away from lung cancer.

Dad's Scrapbook

Hi Everyone,

Thought you would like to see a couple of the pages I did for my dad's scrapbook. I went through and picked out pictures of all the houses my parents owned, but decided on the two that meant something to me, the top one was the one I grew up in and the second one is our house in Hatteras where we spent our summers.

On the other page, I have the two sailboats my parents owned, Puff and Cythera and the stories that go with these pretty little things. Puff is the one from my early childhood and Cythera was while I was in high school and I spent many a day scrubbing her belly and taking care of her toe rail. Also had to track her down during hurricane where she broke loose and sailed down the Hudson alone, but my brother was able to find her. I kept the pages somewhat simple since my dad is not a glitz kind a guy.

Lucky's One Layer and Sample from Inspiration Class

Hi Everyone,

Well it is finally Friday and I have been trying to get cards made for Lucky Stamper for next week and trying to figure out what to wear at my parents. Also, making a list for my DH and DD as to what goes on around here, like making sure the animals have water while I am gone. They will do fine, I am sure.

Today is my one layer card and I tried to take one of the tips/techniques that Jennifer showed during one of the classes and that is to use Perfect Pearls, which I had stuck in a drawer. This card was easy just stamped the background with Faded Jeans Distressed Ink and then stamped the flower image. To add the shine, just dusted some Perfect Pearls over it. Jennifer had so many ideas on how to use these fun items, like painting your image with them, which I have for you next week.

Just in case you are interested Jennifer is going to have another class called Holiday Boot Camp and I can't wait to see what she has for that one.

Rosettes

Hi All,

Finally a couple of the rosettes I made for the Inspiration Class. These are fun to make, which I just used the Scor Pal, but I am thinking I will be like Jennifer and use the die from Ranger that cuts and perforates, looks so much easier. I also ordered the pretty foil tape from Ranger she used to decorate her rosettes and I just think that the foil tape and the tissue tape add so much more interest.

Did you see I attached a couple to tags, yes I made a tag, I know right slow down little filly. Ok for those new to Lucky Stamper, I don't do tags, not sure why just haven't conquered them yet. On one of the tags, I embossed vellum with the swiss dots and then just attached a copper rosette. Left space to add a sentiment, maybe a banner type thing. I also used Jennifer's example of embossing an acetate tag and attaching to cardstock, then I put my two tier rosette on it.

Fun Picture and Sneak Peek of the Album

Hi Everyone,

So Sunday night this amazing storm full of cloud to cloud lightening came through and yes we got some rain, finally it is starting to rain some. Well, I grabbed my camera to take some pictures, but then thought they were not coming out and stopped. Guess I was doing alright, here is one shot.

Wish I had trusted myself and kept taking some more pictures :(

Anyway, I have given you a sneak peek into my dad's scrapbook, ok just the front and you can see how large it became, but my DD and I very happy with the way it came out and it will hopefully give him hours of memories and stories to tell.

Since I will be gone next week, I will post a couple of the pages on the inside, sorry no people pictures but some home pictures, boat and of course our dogs. In case you are wondering who is in charge while I am away, my DD of course, as my hubby just grumbles. Hey someone needs to watch over everything right?

Hi Everyone,

Well, the scrapbook is completed, I spent about 8 hours Saturday and 6 hours Sunday and thankfully my DD was helping or I would not have been able to ship it out. I was going to carry it with me on the plane, but thought better of that. I did take some pictures of it and will share a couple tomorrow.

Today, I have another Doggie Congrats for a blogging friend who had to put one of their sweet little dogs to sleep due to illness, but she has since adopted another who desperately needed a home. I wanted to make a little welcome home card for her new addition, that will be joining her other two dogs. I tried to color them about the same color but it was not that easy with such a small image. Hope you enjoy!

Operation Write Home Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Well, I have to say the end of the week was great, we had beautiful weather, cloudy and cool, then to end the week it rained Friday night. I know who would think that cloudy is beautiful.

So, our modem started to die on Friday and limping along as we wait patiently for Wednesday so I can hook up the new one, warning, warning, in case you see me missing, it is because my modem couldn't make it. My fingers are crossed and a couple of prayers, since I do everything on the internet.

Now on with the show, our Stamps R Us challenge is a little different this time, the theme is to make a birthday card for Operation Write Home. Make an A2 sized birthday card using any products for your cards except glitter and send it to one of the Operation Write Home shippers listed on the Operation Write Home main blog.

Butterflies and an Award

Hi Everyone,

I have been very, very bad, sweet Cindy over at Cindy's Antics, was so nice to pass on to me the Butterfly Award just before I left for Florida and upon my return, I had forgotten all about it, I hang my head in shame. Thank you Cindy and if you haven't checked out her blog head on over, she colors up some pretty cards and has an adorable grandson.

Now we all know that when an award arrives, usually there are some things you have to follow and this one has questions that I need to answer about myself, so here we go.

Happy Holidays and Lucky's One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

It's Friday!!! It is Friday right???? For some reason this week I have been so confused over the days, which is the fault of looking through hundreds of pictures, which then resulted in moving things around. My hubby is always thrilled when I start moving things, like my beading things are now in the guest closet up from the hall closet, my antique desk is now in the dining room, moved from the guest room, well you get the picture. No the craft room stayed in tack, but I have more room since I moved all my studying to the desk downstairs.

Still having fun with my online card class, we learned how to make all these different rosettes, but Jennifer has a whole different take and tips on how to make them, you will see some next week, since today is Lucky's One Layer Friday. I am squeezing this card under the wire over at Less is More. The challenge is to make a one layer card and stamp two of something, so I started thinking winter (sorry Olga) and Christmas. I added a touch of white embossing powder on the branches with some Dazzling Diamonds. Probably should have done something fun with the corners, but I honestly was rushing today, trying to pick pictures and slides and finding some place to copy them all so I can get started on my dad's scrapbook, only have a week. Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great week, it is quiet here right now. I have been going through boxes of pictures as well as all my digital photos and think I am coming up with some nice pictures for my dads scrapbook. Now I need to get some slides copied to print and get extra copies of some of the print photos. I will take pictures as I go along so you can see what I come up with. It will not be glitzy since my dad is not a bling person.

So this is the first week of Jennifer McGuires Inspiration Online Card Class and my goodness in just two days I have picked up so many tips, tricks and techniques. Hope she does a holiday class!!! So today's card I used on of the resist techniques she demonstrated using the kiss method to make the background, she demonstrated 5. She also made these great flowers, but my border punches didn't really work so will have to possibly invest in a different one. I used one of my SU background stamps, Bella Toile and then kissed it with my PTI Background Basics Text. I used the resist method for the leaves as well. Made this into a thank you card for my brother and his girlfriend for being such great hosts. Hope you enjoy!

Autumn Days and Apples

Hi Everyone,

I am really starting to wonder about how fast the days are going by, is it because the seasons want to get to the holidays? Have to say I love making holiday cards and winter cards.

So I have been going through all my pictures, since my mom gave me all the pictures she had, I am putting together a small scrapbook for my dad's birthday, he turns 84 and it starts with his engagement to my mom and on through to today. Hope he likes it.

I took a break from the pictures (sat there for 4 hours) and made a card for the Clean & Simple Challenge 156, it is my kind of sketch, easy. Still keeping with autumn I thought of apples and cider and all the fun stuff when you go pick pumpkins, miss that here in Texas especially when it is 101 outside. I colored up the apples from SU Studio Sketches and then punched it out and placed over the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

I want to thank everyone for your well wishes for sweet little Lucky, within 24 hours he was back to his old self, beating up on all his toys and yelling at the cat for scratching at the furniture. He is still on his antibiotics for this week, which he loves because that means he gets the Pill Pockets to take his medicine, just say "Pill" and he comes running.

The house is once again happy, I spent the weekend cleaning it, so I think it is back in balance, my goodness who knew that a house would get so upset.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I watched some of the ceremonies for 9/11 and remembered where I was at the time, but happy that we are one nation and unit when needed.

The card for today is for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge, using the freebie, Flowers from joining their progressive challenge. The challenge for this week is to use autumn colors, so I did my best coloring these little flowers up and then adding some Flower Soft to their centers. Hope you enjoy!

Lucky's One Layer Friday and OLW!!!!

Hi Everyone,

My goodness, how happy am I this week is over, if you only knew what has been going wrong since I got back from FL; really should be back on the first flight back!!!!! Let's see, the pool vacuum doesn't always want to work, think I need to work on the pressure, an alarm sensor needed readjusting and I looked high and low to find the culprit, light in garage door opener blew, our garage door sensor showing if the door is open or closed is going crazy, Lucky has a tummy bug and well you can guess he pooped on my carpet, white carpet, well that is just a sample, there is more and I won't bore you with it, after all there are worse things out there just funny to have them happen all at once, I think the house is mad we left.

The bright side.....One Layer Wednesday challenges are back, yippee!!!! They are the ones who helped me get started on my one layer cards and this week the challenge is to make a one layer baby card, now this was a tough one for me, since I like doing scenes on my one layers, not my best work, goes along with my week. I decided to use my BIC Markers to color and shade my image, after seeing Gina over at Stamp TV use them, never really thought I could blend them well enough, but guess it isn't too bad and sure cheaper than Copics, although I still like my Copics. Hope you enjoy!

On a side note, the area we live in has a very strong HOA and tonight they decorated the mailboxes, which is thousands of homes, to honor 9/11.

Amazing how fast the week has gone, but here we are on Thursday and I need to think about what I want to do for Lucky's One Layer Friday.....hmmm......:)

I am also spending some time praying that rain is in the future for Texas, to help with the drought and all the wildfires to help everyone out.

Today's card is one for a blogging friend who got two little puppies a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to send her a card to welcome the cute little fuzz balls. This card is very similar to the pop up happy birthday card I made a few weeks ago, but this time there is a puppy popping up. I wove 1/8" ribbon through the eyelet punch along the top. Hope you enjoy!

A Flattened Birthday

Well, back to normal, Noel is still yelling at me, but she is part Siamese, so to be expected and Lucky never leaves my side. Starting think when I say car ride, he will hide now.

Today's card is made with an image from Hambo Digitals, what fun stuff they have over there, figured I had so much fun with the pencils and the alien I should have fun with the birthday image Steamroller. This will be a birthday card for our nephew and usually when they get to be older a check will do, which is flat. I colored it up with Copics and Prisma Pencils and I actually made this with only the front half of the card, so I guess really one layer. There is a pocket on the front to hold the sentiment and check. I think I found this idea over at PTI, but not sure since I was all over the place looking at videos. Hope you enjoy!

Guess Where I Have Been....

Hi Everyone,

Ok, I cannot tell a lie, I wasn't home since Friday I just pre-posted everything, Want to know where I really was this Labor Day Weekend????? We flew off to Florida to visit my family, my son and his girlfriend flew in as well and they stayed at my parents, my DD also stayed there, fun times staying with grandma and grandpa and my hubby and I stayed over at my brothers house, since my parents have totally downsized.

It was fun to have the whole family together, so difficult to do with my son in college and his girlfriend got to meet my son's grandpa, who is his everything, teaching him to drive, golf, snorkel, body surf, fish, etc. so many memories for him, think it is guy thing.

You may be wondering about Lucky, he did not make this trip, but stayed at a doggie resort, with a suite that had a patio, TV and floor to ceiling glass door. He also got to have play time with the other doggies and had one on one time with the owner, even a before bed walk and treat. Noel went to her usual place different from Lucky, but she gets a double condo to herself so she doesn't suffer.

Today's card is for the Hambo Hoedown, I actually was the Queen of the Hambo Hoedown last week and I was very honored. Now since it is a progressive challenge, this week they sent the Alien Spaceship to color up and the challenge is for your card to have dimension. I colored this fun little guy up with my Copics and then used some of the Glimmer Paper from SU to give it some shine. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend and I guess it really is still going on since it is still Labor Day Weekend! How fun, an extra day off and I guess the official end of summer :(, yes still sad even though it has been a hot one. It is sad because the trees lose their leaves and everything turns brown and icky.

Now today is Monday and yippee Stamps R Us has another two week challenge, which is Friendship and always a great prize for the winner. Our wonderful sponsor is Karber Digital Images and I colored up Leslie, such cute images to color, if you have not heard of Karber, check it out. Faux Layers and Lucky's One Layer Friday

Hi Everyone,

My goodness, Friday and September....you know what that means right??? It means the next thing we know it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas, but at least most of my Christmas shopping is done and I confess, I use the photo Christmas Cards since everyone likes to see how big the kids are.

Today's inspiration is from Lynn over at Confession of a Left-Brained Stamper and her KSS 10 Minute Monday. I love her 10 Minute Monday cards, they are the best and so easy to follow along, but for my card, I took the liberty of making it a one layer card. This is a 4" x 4" square card and Lynn used cardstock and punched a fun boarder, so I used that layout and did a faux layer in pumpkin colors. Hope you enjoy!

As soon as I saw it (well and thanked her) I saw the 5 Petal Punch from SU for the leaves. There have been other strawberries out there using a heart punch and then I used the 5 Petal Punch for the leaves.

Well, not much going on here right now, all quiet and I am just happy with that. I am getting quite a bit of studying done, so maybe I can catch up, or at least I can dream, need those goals to reach for.

Today's card is one of the 6 I made last week, I really was on a roll, to get that many done in one day, didn't even stop to study that day. I used one of my favorite stamps from SU Inspired by nature, you can make so many different cards with that one and I thought about a field of flowers with some butterflies flying around, not sure it totally worked, but it was worth a try. Hi Everyone,

Well, it is still a tad bit warm here in TX, 106 to 108, but next week there is a cool front coming through, 95, well get my sweaters ready.

Although, my mojo has been on a vacation somewhere and since I have not yet received a postcard, I am not sure where, I was very productive on Friday, making 6 cards, can't wait to see what happens when mojo comes home.

Today's card, is one combined from various blogs I visit daily, two being Becky's, Diamond in the Rough and Lynn, Confessions of a Left Brained Stamper. I saw the sunflower stamp on Becky's blog months ago and I ordered months ago and forgot about it and on Lynn's blog she always does these wonderful "Texas" fences, so I combined the two.
